EDDIE, ADDIEs Older Brother
April 10, 2026I decided I can use this blog to document my trials and tribulations and invite conversations. I have been at this since the middle of January and I have almost gotten to an MVP. A Minimal Viable Product. I am finalizing my course layout, content and scripts. So that means next phase is full video lecture series with demonstrations.
I have already realized a number of issue with some of my semi-pro gear. You do pay for performance, so if you are in budget to buy a camera, do your research and try to understand your application before buying. If you plan on two hour sessions, your batteries and storage devices will require high demand.
One of the first videos I shot for this has a lot of issues, but I am leaving it in the series so that we can show progress as we add techniques and equipment. One lesson right off the bat was from my lav mic. Short for lavalier, this mic is the kind you wear on your lapel. My first takes had my mic on channel 2 where it was really hot and carries a buzzing sound. Not ideal.
I had to switch to channel one and bring down the gain on my sender pack.
